Vocalist Nikki Shi and guitarist Bruce Erhard founded Route Bleu in 2009.  The songwriting duo promptly established a distinctive sound.  Defined by Shi’s candid vocal approach and Erhard’s alluring jazz-guitar charm, Route Bleu is fresh and familiar at the same time with its western swing flair and vocal-centric aesthetic.  Route Bleu’s mix of influences, comprised of American roots music, western swing, blues and jazz, flavored by Nikki Shi’s Oklahoma upbringing and Bruce Erhard’s Jersey roots, is an intoxicating melodic cocktail.
